On Thursday, May 9th, we will be holding a Celebration of Life Vigil for Mr. Casey at Manning Field from 7:30 - 8:30 P.M. Please join us as we take some time to honor his life.💙🤍

Our entire school community has been deeply affected this week by the recent passing of our Director of School Counseling, Dan Casey. We extend our condolences to the Casey family, and all students, staff, and Teachers, who are working through this difficult time. Mr. Casey dedicated himself to Scituate Middle/High School for the past five years, first as a school counselor before taking on a bigger role as our Director of School Counseling. He was also our head wrestling coach and played a crucial role in building our program up to where it is today. Mr. Casey connected with nearly every student in our school in some way. In a school community as close-knit as ours, his loss will continue to be deeply felt. Please know that we are doing everything we can to support students, families, and the entire Scituate community with additional resources and counseling during this time, and we encourage anyone who has been affected by this news to reach out to support services, including those available through our schools. The Middle School Unified Basketball Team had its first game last week and SMS won 30-28 against Ponaganset! Great job team!

Scituate Spartans raised over $3000 for the RI Special Olympics at the Polar Plunge on Saturday! These brave high school and middle school students jumped in the freezing ocean with rain, hail, and 32-degree weather!

We are so proud of our middle school students who worked hard last week to earn Spartan shout-outs!

Last week Ava D's Feinstein Golden Ticket was chosen by The Feinstein Foundation. As a result, SMS will receive a grant for $5,000, and Ava was able to choose a non-profit that will receive a $500 grant. Ava will also receive a Feinstein Gift Basket. Congratulations Ava, and a huge thank you to The Feinstein Foundation for choosing her!
