We are excited to welcome both new and returning students to an exciting year of learning and growth. Each day, we encourage you to try your best and be your best!

At SMS, our goal is to create a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where you’ll engage in meaningful, motivating, and challenging learning experiences. These experiences are designed to help you develop the essential skills needed for success in the 21st century.

Throughout the year, you’ll participate in a variety of academic and social-emotional projects and activities. You’ll deepen your understanding through critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. You’ll continue to read and analyze complex texts, write across subjects, and build a strong foundation of knowledge in each of your courses. You’ll also learn to communicate effectively, advocate for yourself, and contribute to a positive and respectful school community.

To be successful, complete your work on time, put forth your best effort, and persevere—even when things get tough. Mistakes are a part of learning, and we are here to help you grow from them.
