Our Open House was full last night! Thank you to our staff, students, and our Spartan community who attended and helped answer questions and share their Scituate high school experiences. Each display table looked amazing, and it was clear that our students and staff worked hard to put their tables together. It's easy to have Spartan Pride with such a supportive school community!
6th and 7th grade students had some fun before they performed in their concert last week! Congratulations to all who performed!

Mr. Sheehan's 6th graders worked on a project where they conceived and planned an app, then created a prototype in Google Slides!

Mrs. Battey's 8th graders participated in a lab that was an extension of an article they read on magnetic fields! Each class was amazed to learn that there was iron in birds. They were asked to brainstorm how to extract the iron from Total cereal. First, they used a hand lens to try to view the iron. Then, they thought if they crushed the cereal, the iron would be attracted to the magnet. Again, no success. Then they thought of adding water.. SUCCESS!
Yesterday 8th grade students had the chance to explore our high school's CTE academies! Students were able to rotate to different classrooms and learn about the experiences that they can be a part of when they enroll in Entrepreneurship, Biomedical Science, Engineering, or Computer Science at SHS!

Our middle schoolers donated 154 non-perishable food items to the local food pantry at Trinity Episcopal Church in North Scituate. Student Council plans to continue coordinating food drives at various times throughout the year!
Last week, 8th grade students in Mrs. Battey's Science class spent time investigating how magnets can cause objects to have kinetic energy!
Our middle school students have completed their amazing pull-toy projects! We loved their creativity!
It's a wonderful time of year to commit acts of kindness and our Club Linus students are doing just that! They have been busy at work preparing blankets for hospitalized, children and other children in need.
So proud of our middle school students for earning Spartan Shout-outs! Great job everyone!
